Rome, December 9, 2022 – The awards ceremony of the 21st International Carthage Cultural Prize was held at the Spazio Europa Hall of the European Parliament in Rome. This prestigious recognition is granted to Italian and international figures who have distinguished themselves for their contributions to cultural, social, and civil development.
Among the awardees was film director, journalist, and writer Stefania Capobianco, honored in the category of “Journalism, Art, and Culture.”
The prize was awarded in recognition of the excellence of her professional and academic career: from graduating with honors at university, to completing Masters in Screenwriting and Marketing and Communication, to establishing herself as an accomplished author, director, and journalist.
The official citation states that “her outstanding communication skills are reflected in a clear and profound writing style, imbued with strong artistic sensitivity and a critical outlook on the world.”
The certificate, symbolizing the award, further highlights the ethical and cultural value of Stefania Capobianco’s work: “Her journalistic pieces, film scripts, and books reflect a desire to plant seeds that inspire reflection, eventually blossoming into the culture toward which every civil conscience should strive.”
This represents an important milestone for the director, whose name joins those of many illustrious personalities who have received the prize in past years, including Mario Luzi, Lucio Dalla, Ennio Morricone, George Clooney, Kofi Annan, Antonio Banderas, Lino Banfi, Giulio Andreotti, Antonino Zichichi, and many others.
The Carthage Cultural Prize serves as an ideal bridge for dialogue and exchange among the peoples of the Mediterranean, recognizing and valuing those who, through culture, promote progress and cohesion among nations.
